If you can figure out how to access the road leading to the hotel, this is what you will find: a closed pool, construction, taking place, cheap toilet paper, a small TV with no Guide Channel, and the beds are small and uncomfortable...if you are larger than a Q-Tip you won't be comfortable sharing a bed...by no means are they made for 2 adults. But it's a place to lay your head. I won't be staying at this or any other Comfort Inn, again.
New look of the room is great.... friendly staff... lots of variety in breakfast... convenient location next to shopping mall...
I have stayed at this hotel multiple times. Nice appointments, clean rooms, just a nice place. The only issue I have is if you are on the odd room side of the hotel. They have these bright lights that shine into the rooms at night. The drapes are inadequate for blocking the light. And you can read a book without a light on in the room. Maybe it is just me, but I have a hard time sleeping with that much light shining into the room. Wish the lights were on a timer and went out at a decent time. Other than that issue, it is a great place to stay in Shelby.
Absolutely 0 stars! My wife and I booked a room a month in advance to come into town for a wedding. The hotel called us 20 minuets before the rehearsal started to tell us the room was no longer available, because of a pipe that had burst. I understand that the hotel cannot prevent things like that. I do appreciate that they were going to try to accommodate us in another hotel in the area. However, they got us a room in a run down hotel that was beyond nasty. The hotel staff were beyond rude to us. When I tried to call comfort inn to tell them what had happened they acted like it was out of their hands. My wife and I had to make a long drive home just to come back the next day for the wedding. The hotel manager was supposed to call us back the next morning and we never heard from her. Very terrible customer service! DO NOT RECOMMEND STAYING HERE!
I read a review about the construction and the owner said they were finished over a week ago. I show up and they said they were just doing wallpaper on a few rooms. I went to my first room and they were tiling next door. I moved rooms after talking with the construction crew, no big deal. I was woke up by loud machines and loud workers right outside my room. They were spraying paint and had a loud machine. I opened my door and it was blocked off with plastic. By this time it was too late to switch hotels. I work over night and sleep during the day like I told front desk at check-in. It was a holiday weekend on a Sunday, they shouldn't even be working at all on the weekends. It's a shame because the staff was nice and the hotel probably would have been 4-5 stars. They never did anything about it. They never offered me anything for the false description of the hotel and my inconvenience.
