I have been a patient at this office for 20 years. Dr. Chamberlain (*wonderful*) delivered both of our children (ages 16 and 19) and the office staff, ease of appointments, doctors and nurses years ago was incredible.
The doctors are understaffed at this time and I realize it causes a strain on the entire office but when it interferes with the quality of care, it's time to change offices.
Then I received a letter in the mail saying they needed to change THAT date to a later date and sent the new day via a letter. I find that impersonal and inconsiderate of a patient's schedule. It's not only the physicians who have a busy schedule. We, as patients, have a very busy schedule as well! I have been seeing Dr. Keeley ever since Dr. Chamberlain changed offices. He's a great doctor. Kind, caring and listens.
I love love love Dr.Borders and her nurse, even the other staff are pleasant, but the front desk has no idea what they're doing!! My diabetes exam at 27 weeks was scheduled for 3pm!!! I called numerous times to get it moved to 8:30am as their information about the glucose screening said it would be but no luck because Doctor vacations, etc. and was pretty rude to me because I wanted to reschedule. Not to mention I'm not even a high risk pregnancy but at the beginning of my pregnancy had me coming every other week for 5 minute appointments! This being my first child I'm not having a pleasant experience at all.
The poor hospital is even under staffed/ high turn over rate. Discrimination is highly possible here!!
The doctor that delivered my child was not only ignorant but was purely wicked and heartless.
For the past several years things have gone downhill. It takes a long time to get someone on the phone and when you do, not all of them are very friendly. I had some issues going on and felt I needed to be seen ASAP and they VERY rudely told me I could go to the ER and scheduled my appointment for 2 months out. I am not a high maintenance patient. I go for my yearly physical and have never asked to be seen ASAP until this situation.

I phoned Shelby Women's Clinic to let them know I received their letter that changed my appointment (a phone call from them would have been more considerate) and told them the date wouldn't work. Let them know I'd found a new office and they were, of course, too busy to care.
Make sure you go where you feel your time and care is as important as theirs.
Save your money, resource and time.
All services here is not monitored and is not equal. For the safety of your unborn child and for your health....find a better hospital in charlotte and a better obgyn clinic.
The hospital in shelby lack basic ethical patient care services and the obgyn use that opportunity to abuse their patient.
Was rescheduled for my first appt due to doctor being on jury duty and then I went to the wrong location at my new appt and was not aware that there was two and was told I had to reschedule even though it was their error. I informed them I have driven 40 mins to get there. Customer is definitely not a priority and I won't reschedule there.
Unfortunately, not much choices here in shelby. My advice to you..based on various horrible experiences ...is to flee and avoid the obgyn in this clinic!!

I phoned another office last week in Spartanburg that comes highly recommended and got in the NEXT DAY due to a cancellation. They were ON TOP of everything! Removed a polyp, did an ultrasound, etc the same day and scheduled me for a endometrial biopsy the following week.
